Charity Navigator has named Sustainable Harvest International one of the "six highest-ranking charities in the sector making major strides to increase sustainable food production." We’re in pretty good company on the list, which also recognizes AshokaCenter for Food SafetyOxfamHeifer International, and Food and Water Watch.

The announcement comes on the heels of Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos’ recent tweet asking followers where he should donate his growing net worth. Specifically, Bezos notes that he wants his philanthropic activity to help "people in the here and now—short term—at the intersection of urgent need and lasting impact." 

At its core, our work emphasizes the short term impact of ending hunger coupled with the long term impact of stabilizing the climate. You can have your healthy environment and eat it too!

By addressing the urgent needs of family farmers (food to eat, steady incomes!) we can meet the long term needs of our planet (sequestering carbon in the soil, saving tropical forests, and protecting biodiversity!).
