transforming communities

El Caliche is a community of three dozen families in the central mountains of Honduras near Siguatepeque and one of SHI’s long-time community partners. When El Caliche first partnered with SHI in 2015, the community faced an uncertain future due to massive deforestation, soil erosion, and acute water insecurity. After 5 years, the people of El Caliche have transformed their land and secured their future. Learn more about how SHI’s model helps build resilient communities in Central America.

The Drawdown Report

"To save humanity, we have to stop releasing greenhouse gases. But that alone won't be enough. We also have to find ways to actually remove carbon from the atmosphere. And fast."

#TheDrawdownReport is a series from filmmaker Nathan Lee Johnson, in partnership with Sustainable Harvest International. Follow along as we explore practical ways to achieve "drawdown" - actively removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. With the right innovation, can we restore the environment?
